6/20/2023 0 Comments The bookwanderers series![]() My copies have already been around a few of the children in my class – all of whom have loved it – and I’ve been asked several times, ‘Are there any more books in this series?’. This novel needs to be put into the hands of any young bookworm straight away, who in turn will immediately lap it up. Moreover, Tilly is an utterly delightful character whose warmth, confidence and resilience – as well as her passion for reading! – all shine through like a beacon of hope and a model to all young readers. It brings to mind the magical feel of Cornelia Funke’s Inkheart trilogy, where fictional characters are brought to life, and it is this mechanic in Tilly that will appeal hugely to hungry bookworms. Tilly and the Bookwanderers is a novel where the world of reading is seen afresh from a wonderfully exciting perspective. And so begins her adventures to discover more about her extraordinary gift and ultimately to find out whatever it was that happened to her mum. ![]() ![]() Soon after this, Alice (the same one who visited Wonderland) drops by for a chat.įollowing these strange meetings, Tilly discovers that she can ‘book wander’ which means she can experience something that every reader wishes could happen to them: Tilly can see and talk with characters from her favourite books. Yes, that is every reader’s dream, and indeed a book about this alone would be brilliant! But there’s a twist: one day, Tilly is in the bookshop when a girl appears not just any girl, but Anne (of ‘Green Gables’ fame). ![]()
